STAR TREK: DS9

My favorite of the Trek series. The plot arcs are amazing, especially the Dominion War of course, and the character development is brilliant. There are so many secondary characters that not only contribute heavily to the plots, but they too are fleshed out perfectly. The characters aren't perfect and perfectly likeable like in TNG, and not everyone gets along with everyone else (ie Odo and Quark). It has a bit of a theatrical flare, as it's more dramatic than say TNG in many ways, and much darker than both of the preceeding series, if not all of them. I was very emotionally committed to the series and the characters and their plight.


Favorite Character(s) It's very difficult to pick favorites when I like so many of the characters, more than any other series. BUT my favorite is definitely Garak. He's such an eccentric and interesting character, I never get bored of watching him. Andrew J. Robinson does a great job with him. He's charming in that sort of brilliant but wacky sort of way that I appreciate in Doc Brown from Back to the Future, but of course far less benign. My favorite initially was Odo but Garak began growing on me. Also, after Odo began dating Kira he got a bit too... sloppy? I also have to say that Armin Shimmerman as Quark is one of my favorite StarTrek characters of all time. He's so unique and funny, he made me love Ferengi episodes.
